- Dr. Awam Amkpa. Associate Professor of Social and Cultural Analysis. He was chair of NYU Africana Studies Dept. He is director of film documentaries and curator of several photographic exhibitions including "Africa See you, See Me" (and photographic book), and film festivals. Dr Amkpa is the author of Theatre and Postcolonial Desires (Routledge, 2003).
- Dr. Adeniyi Ojutiku. also an academic but retired, co founder of Lift Up Now Foundation a USA based NGO engaged in developing and disseminating frameworks for sustainable political and democratic governance. Dr Ojutiku is the represent of North Carolina on the Southern Regional Education Board.
